ANNETTA MARION is a Primetime Emmy Award-winning, Hollywood Creative Alliance ASTRA Award-winning, Gracie Award-winning, Oscar short-listed, Peabody Award, and BAFTA-nominated filmmaker, director, and showrunner. She has worked with some of the biggest stars on major shows for Netflix,  Amazon, Apple+, ESPN, OWN, MTV, VH1, and Investigation Discovery, including the acclaimed OPRAH’S MASTER CLASS

 

Annetta's Amazon Original Series FIRST TO THE FINISH just won two 2026 Gracie Awards for Director (Sports Documentary) and Sports Program. The nonfiction high-octane action series is an inside look at the thrilling Mazda MX-5 car racing season. Seen mostly through the lens of three standout women in the world of motorsports, they navigate the challenges of racing at the highest level. FIRST TO THE FINISH premiered last year on Prime Video Sports; Annetta was an EP/showrunner and directed all six episodes of this striking pilot season.

 

Previously, she produced and second-unit directed the beloved award-winning STILL: A MICHAEL J. FOX MOVIE, which premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. The hybrid film won four Primetime Emmys, a HOPE Filmmaker Award at SXSW, and five Critics' Choice Awards, scoring both BAFTA and Peabody nominations.

 

Annetta currently serves on the Directors Guild of America (DGA) Eastern Directors Council and National Board (as an alternate). She is a sought-after speaker and panelist at Film Festivals, Organizations, Non-profits, and Guilds. 

 

She is in high demand and actively engaged in several new projects, including documentary features covering topics from sports to Broadway to politics, an action feature film, and the development of another horror short; this one is set in Vermont.

 

Fun Fact: Annetta loves going to Vipassana silent meditation retreats, especially at the Shelburne, Massachusetts center, which was the first one founded in North America.
